Introduction

Fyra ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Fyra mobile application ("App").

Information We Collect

1. Personal Health Information

When you use Fyra, we collect the following health and personal information:

• Profile Information: Height, weight, date of birth, gender, and unit system preferences
• Health Data: Weight entries, food entries (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat), activity entries (calories burned, duration, distance), and daily summaries
• Calculated Data: Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculated from your profile information
• Device Information: Device names associated with health data entries (e.g., smart scale names)

2. Apple Health Integration

If you grant permission, Fyra may:

• Read from Apple Health: Weight, height, date of birth, gender, dietary energy consumed, active energy burned, workouts, and basal energy burned
• Write to Apple Health: Weight entries, food entries, and activity entries that you manually log in the App

You can revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

3. Usage Data

We collect the following usage information locally on your device:

• Notification Preferences: Your notification settings and preferences
• Logging Patterns: Times when you log meals, workouts, and weight (used to personalize notification timing)
• Recent Food Items: Cached list of recently used food items and quantities
• Subscription Status: Information about your premium subscription and trial status

4. Camera Access

If you use the barcode scanning feature, the App accesses your device's camera to scan product barcodes. Camera access is only used for barcode scanning and is not used to capture or store images.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide core App functionality (calorie tracking, weight monitoring, activity logging)
• Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and daily calorie needs
• Sync data with Apple Health (if you grant permission)
• Personalize notification timing based on your usage patterns
• Provide food search functionality using third-party APIs
• Manage your premium subscription and trial status
• Improve the App's functionality and user experience

Data Storage

Local Storage

All your health and personal data is stored locally on your device using:

• Core Data: Your profile, weight entries, food entries, activity entries, and daily summaries are stored in a local SQLite database
• UserDefaults: App preferences, notification patterns, cached food data, and subscription status are stored locally
• App Group Container: Data is shared between the main App and the Notification Service Extension using an App Group container

No Cloud Storage

Fyra does not currently sync your data to cloud services. All data remains on your device. CloudKit integration is disabled, and we do not use any third-party cloud storage services.

Third-Party Services

1. Food Search APIs

When you search for food items, the App queries the following third-party services:

• USDA FoodData Central API (api.nal.usda.gov): Used to search for generic food items. Your search queries are sent to this service, but no personal information is transmitted.
• Open Food Facts API (world.openfoodfacts.org): Used to search for branded products and scan barcodes. Your search queries and barcode scans are sent to this service, but no personal information is transmitted.

2. Apple Services

• Apple HealthKit: Used to read and write health data (with your permission)
• Apple StoreKit: Used to process in-app subscription purchases. Apple handles payment processing and subscription management.

3. No Analytics or Tracking

Fyra does not use analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies. We do not collect usage analytics, crash reports, or device identifiers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal health information with third parties except:

• Apple Health: If you grant permission, health data is synced with Apple Health according to Apple's privacy policies
• Food Search Queries: When you search for food items, your search query (not personal information) is sent to USDA and Open Food Facts APIs
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can view all your data within the App
• Modification: You can edit your profile information and health entries at any time
• Deletion: You can delete individual entries or uninstall the App to remove all data
• Apple Health Permissions: You can revoke Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings at any time
• Notifications: You can disable notifications in the App's settings
• Camera Access: You can revoke camera permissions in iOS Settings if you don't want to use barcode scanning

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:

• All data is stored locally on your device
• Data is encrypted at rest by iOS
• We use App Group containers for secure data sharing between the App and extensions
• No data is transmitted over the internet except for food search queries (which contain no personal information)

Children's Privacy

Fyra is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Data Retention
