We process text you type to transform it using AI.

• Free vibes: processed on-device; no data leaves your device.
• Premium vibes: text is sent to OpenAI's API for processing; we do not store your text.

2.2 Usage Data (Stored Locally)

Tone usage counts (which vibes you use most) are stored locally on your device.

This data is used only to sort vibes by frequency and is not transmitted to us.

2.3 Temporary Text Storage

Original text is temporarily stored locally to enable the "Undo" feature.

This data is cleared when you dismiss the keyboard or switch apps.

2.4 Subscription Information

Subscription purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit.

• We do not collect or store payment information.
• Apple may share subscription status with us to enable premium features.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 Free Vibes (On-Device Processing)

• Text transformations are processed on-device using Apple's Foundation Models (iOS 26+).
• No data leaves your device.
• Works offline.

4.2 Premium Vibes (OpenAI API)

When you use premium vibes, your text is sent to OpenAI's API for processing.

• We use OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model.
• Text is sent only for the transformation request and is not stored by OpenAI (per their API terms).
• We do not store your text after processing.

4.3 Local Storage

• Tone usage counts are stored locally to personalize your experience.
• Original text is stored temporarily for the Undo feature.
• All local data remains on your device.

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

5.1 OpenAI

Premium vibes require sending text to OpenAI's API.

5.2 Apple

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple.

• Local data is stored in Apple's App Group container, protected by iOS security.
• We do not maintain servers that store your text.

7. Data Retention

• Tone usage counts: stored locally until you delete the app.
• Original text: stored temporarily and cleared when the keyboard is dismissed.
• Premium transformation requests: not stored by us or OpenAI (per API terms).

8. Your Rights and Choices

• You can delete all local data by deleting the app.
• Tone usage data is stored locally and can be cleared by deleting the app.

8.2 Control Your Data

• Free vibes: no data leaves your device.
• Premium vibes: you can choose not to use premium vibes if you prefer not to send text to OpenAI.

8.3 Subscription Management

Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple's subscription management in Settings.

9. Children's Privacy

VibeKey is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us to have it removed.

10. Permissions

10.1 Full Access Keyboard Permission

• Required to enable network requests for premium vibes.
• Without Full Access, premium vibes will not work.
• This permission is standard for keyboard extensions that require network access.

11. International Users

If you use VibeKey outside the UK, your data may be processed in other jurisdictions.

Premium vibes may involve processing by OpenAI in the United States. By using premium vibes, you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy.

Material changes will be communicated through the app or our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
